Benefits & Services

AVIALITE offers a benefits program for its regular full-time and regular part-time employees. However, the existence of these programs does not signify that an employee will necessarily be employed for the required time necessary to qualify for the benefits included in and administered through these programs.

6.1 PROVIDENT FUND CONTRIBUTION
Both the company and the employee shall contribute to the relevant Provident Fund at the statutory rates.

6.2 ANNUAL LEAVE
An employee is entitled to the following number of paid annual leave in accordance with the Employment Act 1955. The maximum of annual leave that can be carry forward are eight (8) days, unless there have a special approval from management.

All employees accrue annual leave over the course of each year  entitled to a pro‐rata amount of leave based on the actual number of months they have worked. L eave can be taken at times convenient to the Company and subject to APPROVAL from the Management.  Therefore the employer is not obliged to grant a request for annual leave every time the employee requests it. Annual leave is requested and considered. It is not demanded and taken without prior APPROVAL You should discuss your annual leave plans well in advance to ensure that the operational needs of our business are not placed at risk. For this reason, you should not book or commit to holiday arrangements before you have this approval.

No leave may be carried forward to the following year without written permission from the Management. Any underutilized annual leave will not be compensated in monetary term nor allowed to be carried forward to the following years.Paid annual leave is available to regular full-time and regular part-time employees following their first-year anniversary with AVIALITE and is provided based on the following calculations:

During the first 2 (two) years of employment, annual leave will be earned at the rate of 0.67 day per month worked. Earned 
annual leave can be taken after 1 (one) year continuous employment.

During the 3rd (third) through 5th (fifth) years of employment, paid 
annual leave time will be earned at the rate of 1.0 day per month worked.

During the 6th (sixth) and following years of employment, 
annual leave time will be earned at the rate of 1.33 days per month worked.

NOTES: The 
annual leave policy applies to all regular full-time [and part-time] employees.

Paid 
annual leave time of regular [part-time] employees will be earned on a fractional basis. Fractional vacation weeks will correspond to the average number of months worked during the preceding year.
 
Example: Employee “A” works for 3 continuous months
3 x 0.67 = 2.01 days 

 
Earned  annual  leave cannot be taken before it is accrued and approved.

Annual leave  may be taken in half-day increments of time.

Upon termination, unused earned 
annual leave  will be paid in a lump sum in the employee’s final paycheck.

A maximum of one week paid vacation may be carried over from one calendar year to the next. However, no more than one week of 
annual leave  may be taken at one time, except under extraordinary circumstances. Requests for more than one week of  annual leave  should be in writing at least ninety [90] days prior to the beginning of the requested  annual leave  period.

AVIALITE encourages all employees to make the most of their 
annual leave  time. Regular breaks from daily work make everyone more productive. However, because circumstances do not always permit everyone to take  annual leave  time when it is requested, AVIALITE will offer employees the option of taking the dollar equivalent of their earned vacation hours at their regular hourly rate. Arrangements to take earned  annual leave  pay should be made at least (1) one payroll period in advance.

6.3 MATERNITY LEAVE
Female employees shall be granted sixty (60) days of maternity leave on full pay. Maternity leave will only be granted after the twenty-eighth (28th) week of pregnancy. Irrespective of the actual date of confinement, not more than two (2) months’ paid leave will be allowed in respect of any one confinement.

A female employee shall not be entitled to any paid maternity leave, if, at the time of her confinement, she has five or more surviving children. 

Leave on account of miscarriage prior to the twenty-eighth (28th) weeks of pregnancy will not be considered as maternity leave but as sick leave.

Application for maternity leave must be supported by a certificate from a doctor or a registered medical practitioner and shall be made at least one (1) month in advance.

6.4 SICK LEAVE
An employee shall, after examined by the company’s doctor and being so recommended, be eligible to paid sick leave in each calendar year as follows:-
(i) Less than 2 years’ service -                                        14 days
(ii) Above 2 years’ but less than 5 years’ service                18 days
(iii) More than 5 years’ service -                                      22 days
(iv) Should hospitalisation be required, the hospitalisation and sick leave is 60 days in the aggregate in each calendar year.

6.5 CASUAL AND COMPASSIONATE LEAVE
Non-cumulative special leave may be granted on the following occasions upon of or an undertaking to produce relevant evidence:-

 

  • Matrimonial Leave - 3 days (once only during his period of service with the company) 
  • Paternity Leave - 2 days
  • Death of family members - 2 days (either spouse, children, parents or parents-in-law)

If any Saturday, Sunday or Gazetted Public Holiday is included within the period of leave, then such Saturday, Sunday or Gazetted Public Holiday shall be reckoned as leave for the purpose of this Article.

Such leave event must be taken for the occasion and cannot be deferred.

6.6 EXAMINATION LEAVE

Confirmed employee pursuing a course related to his job and such course has been given prior approval by the AVIALITE will be entitled to paid examination leave on the actual day of the examination, provided always that such leave may only be granted not more than twice for the same examination.
Application for examination leave can be made on “Leave Application Form” and submit at least two (2) weeks before the examination date to your Supervisor for approval. AVIALITE reserve the right to withdraw such benefit when the required notice of one (1) week is not given by the employee.
Application for examination leave must be accompanied by the receipt of entry and timetable of the examination to support the application. AVIALITE have the right to take disciplinary action against any employee found to be abusing the examination leave.

6.7 UNPAID LEAVE
Employee who have still not earned his annual leave or has used up all his earned leave, may apply for unpaid leave by completing the “Leave Application Form” and submitting to employee’s Supervisor for approval at least one (1) week in advance from the date of the leave. Application where notice is less than one (1) week will not be entertained.
Leave (and MC - Medical Certificate) applied for intern are considered as unpaid leaves
AVIALITE reserve the right to cancel any approved application for unpaid leave should the employee’s presence is required.

6.8 EMERGENCY LEAVE
Emergency leave taken without giving at least three (3) working days notice or without notice may be granted to enable an employee to attend to domestic emergencies that require his personal attendance. Emergency leave not to be exceed five (5) working days in any one (1) calendar year.
AVIALITE have the right to take disciplinary action against any employee found to be abusing his emergency leave. 

6.9 ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE
Employee who absent without permission or having their leave application approved and without a reasonable excuse will be treated as absent without leave. The employee will not be paid for the day and his salary will be deducted in the month such absence occurred. This is considered unpaid leave.

6.10 MEDICAL BENEFITS
Where recommended by the company’s doctor, the company only shall bear for the confirmed employees, the cost of :-
(i) medical treatment by the company’s doctor and medicines prescribed by him.
(ii) the limit of the medical claim for non hospitalization is RM500.00 per year and each claim is cap at RM50.00, the monthly claim shall not be excess than RM100.00 (applicable for KL staff only). (For KT staff: please kindly refer to benefits stipulated in the appointment letter)

The company shall not bear the following costs:-
(i) medical, surgical or other appliances including spectacles.
(ii) dental treatments, dentures or optician’s charges.
(iii) any expense in respect of maternity, pregnancy, confinement or miscarriage.
(iv) any expense for treatment of mental illness.
(v) any expense for cosmetic surgery.
(vi) any expense arising out of self-inflicted illness, injury or diseases including:-
  • - attempted suicide
  • - venereal disease
  • - the performance of any unlawful act
  • - the use of drugs or alcohol
  • - exposure to hazards (except when endeavouring to save human life or property)
  • - participation in hazardous sports or activities
  • - provoked assault
  • - any breach of the peace
  • - disorderly conduct
In the event of free medical attention being available from the federal or state government or from a health social security scheme providing similar or better benefits, then the benefits set out in this section shall no longer apply.

6.11 RECORD KEEPING
The Human Resources Department maintains vacation days accrued and used. Each employee is responsible for verifying his/her pay stub to make sure the correct amount of hours appear.  

6.12 HOLIDAYS
AVIALITE observes the following 11 days holidays per year for all employees:
1) Chinese New Year - 2 day
2) Sultan of Terengganu / Selangor’s Birthday - 1 day
3) Labours’ Day - 1 day
4) SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Birthday - 1 day
5) Hari Raya Puasa - 2 day
6) National Day - 1 day
7) Malaysia Day - 1 day
8) Deepavali - 1 day
9) Christmas - 1 day

Compulsory Gazetted Public Holiday

6.13 TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
AVIALITE recognizes the value of professional development and personal growth for employees. Therefore, AVIALITE encourages its employees who are interested in continuing education and job specific training to research these further and get approval before signing up for the seminars or courses.
